Common questions

Does this cover all Scottish charities or just a subset?
Every charity registered with OSCR is ingested. Composite scores are computed for charities that pass the quality bar - those with sufficient evidence to produce a meaningful score. The rest are still available in the dataset, with the fields that can be populated.
How is this different from searching OSCR directly?
OSCR gives you registration data and annual filings. Dana House adds three intelligence pillar scores (Significance, Execution, Opportunity) built from multiple sub-scores, peer benchmarks, cause classification, financial health signals, and full-text evidence extraction from annual reports. You get a decision-ready layer, not a data dump.
Can I export just Scottish charities?
Yes. The CSV export and API both accept a jurisdiction filter. Set regulator=OSCR or jurisdiction=scotland and you get only Scottish charities, with all available score fields included.
Are scores comparable across Scotland, England & Wales, and Northern Ireland?
The scoring methodology is consistent across all three registers. Peer benchmarks are computed within jurisdiction and cause area, so a Scottish mental health charity is benchmarked against other Scottish mental health charities - not against a much larger English pool.
